Published in the July 19th issue of Billboard Magazine, “Still Making History” reached a new peak position coming in at #3 on the blues chart and bringing the total number of weeks on the chart up to 18. ECLECTO GROOVE RECORDS WELCOMES IT'S NEWEST (AND YOUNGEST) MEMBER!: (05/19/08)
Just days shy of her own birthday, Ana Popovic gave birth to her first child, an 8 lb baby boy named Luuk, or Luka in her native Serbian!!  Both mother and baby are doing great.  Rumor has it he came out equipped with a guitar pick, strapped on Ana’s guitar and began strumming some Bukka White licks.   I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!  Ok, so maybe it’ll be a while before baby Luc starts making music with his mama but that won’t stop him from going on his very first US tour with her this summer!  Ana’s guitar case will double as a diaper bag as she makes her way across the United States, rocking the socks off of audiences in every town she stops in.  Ana, we’re thrilled to have you back on US soil and can’t wait to meet the newest member to the Eclecto Groove family!  Congratulations Ana, Mark and Luuk!  We love you!

Ana Popovic’s latest CD “Still Making History” recently re-entered the Billboard Blues Chart once again at #15 bringing the number of weeks on the chart up to a total of 15! “Still Making History” peaked at the #4 spot 2 weeks in a row late last year and was initially selected by Billboard as a Top Heatseeker back in October 2007 where she quickly began her rise up the charts.

Ana Popovic recently landed in Los Angeles to begin work on her remix album with platinum selling producer, Rudy "Mayru" Maya.  Rudy most notably worked with Grammy Award winning pop superstar, Rihanna, who performed at the recent Grammy Awards where she was nominated for a total of six awards and even took one home for her hit song “Umbrella.”  The material Ana and Rudy are working on is so cutting edge it seems to be just what Eclecto Groove Records needs to crossover Ana into a commercial pop market.  So dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to hit the club scene; the “Still Making History Remix” album is going to be a sensation for DJs all around and will have every young music lover on the dance floor all night long.  Stay tuned for more information on the release of Ana Popovic’s collaboration with esteemed producer, Rudy "Mayru" Maya.

You still have another month to preview Ana Popovic’s Eclecto Groove debut “Still Making History” which is currently featured on listening stations at Borders locations nationwide. Ana’s CD entered the Border’s GLS program last September before her rapid climb up the Billboard Blues Charts. Due to the successful sales of her CD, Borders has extended the program until March, allowing for Ana’s music to gain even greater exposure and reach out to new fans.

What do Eclecto Groove Records recording artist, Ana Popovic, Def Jam recording artist, Rihanna and Bad Boy Records founder, Sean “Puffy” Combs all have in common?  If you guessed their involvement with multi-platinum producer, Rudy “Mayru” Maya, you’ve been keeping up to date on your industry news!  Maya has already begun remix work on two tracks from Popovic’s album, “Still Making History” and Ana will be flying into Los Angeles in early February for some one on one studio time with the esteemed producer.

Eclecto Groove Records and Ana Popovic continue to trudge forth towards the plans of breaking Ana in a commercial pop market.  The powers that be at Eclecto Groove Records have teamed up with multi-platinum producer/composer Rudy “Mayru” Maya to record and release a remix of the “Still Making History” album.  The project will include remixes of 8 tracks from the original “Still Making History” record as well as two additional original tracks.  Here at Eclecto Groove Records, we knew we had to take a bold step in order to cross Ana over into the desired market we felt would best put her music out to the rest of the world.  Given Rudy “Mayru” Maya’s background, we felt he was just the guy to lead us down that path! 

Maya most notably produced tracks for Def Jam recording artist, Rihanna on her multi-platinum debut album, “Music of the Sun.”  Following the release of her debut album, Rihanna’s career has skyrocketed to include numerous hit singles and chart topping releases!  Maya has also been involved in production work for Capital recording artist, Javier, Sony recording artist, Nikki Flores, as well as Sean “Puffy” Combs’ (aka Diddy, P. Diddy, Puff Daddy)  MTV/Bad Boy Records project, “Making the Band.”  Additionally, “Mayru” has scored numerous film, television and commercial projects, most recently for CBS’ hit show, “Cane.”

“Still Making History” closed out the month of December at #10 on the Billboard Blues Charts. It was the 7th week in a row for Ana Popovic who was originally selected as a Top Heatseeker by Billboard back in October before her rapid rise up the charts. “Still Making History” held the #4 spot on Billboard two weeks in a row, sharing company with the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bettye Lavette, Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Keb’ Mo’.

Borders will continue to feature Ana Popovic “Still Making History” on listening stations nationwide until the beginning of March 2008. Borders requested an extension on the current promotion over the holiday season due to the ongoing success they’ve experienced in sales.
